Two More Positive COVID-19 In Terengganu


PUTRAJAYA - Terengganu recorded two more positive COVID-19 cases today involving close contact of individuals who had just returned from Nigeria yesterday or the 8737 PUI Pitakwa cluster case.

It brings the cumulative number of cases in the state to 114 including one death.

Both victims who are the wives and children of case 8737 did not show symptoms of infection and they were admitted to Hulu Terengganu Hospital for treatment.

Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the two new cases are among the 18 positive cases reported, namely 10 cases of imports getting infected from abroad and eight cases of local transmission.

He said, with the increase in the number of cases, it brings the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 8,755 with a total of active cases and 92 cases of infection.

"Only three cases of recovery were reported until 12 noon today, bringing the cumulative number of cases recovered in the country to 8,541 cases or 97.6 percent of the total number of cases," he said in a statement.

He also informed that no increase in deaths was recorded today and the number remained at 122 cases equivalent to 1.39 percent of the total number of cases.
